Solo performance by Bekki. |
This concert was significant because Bekki was the first artist to perform at the
Electric Cafe, set up by Les and Kathy May of Midas Music in Derby. For the uninitiated,
The Electric Cafe consisted of a monthly concert, performed by a different artist each
time, which would hopefully help to promote the EM and instrumental music scene.
This remains to this day one of her favourite concerts, because she feels that the
audience was fantastic. Although only a very small venue, she says that the atmosphere and
small audience added to the intimacy of the concert. She also says that it was made even
more magical because it was the first live airing of Shadow of the Wind, and she was unsure of how
people would react. She needn't have worried!
Following her encore, she was greeted by hugs, kisses and comments from a wide variety
of people. Nice! Music was of course taken from Shadow
of the Wind although 'Megaera' from Elysian
Fields was also played. Bekkis set lasted for 45 minutes. |
